Your pressure won’t make me change my position – UK PM to Trump on Iran War

United Kingdom Prime Minister, Keir Starmer said he is not going to bow to pressure to change his position regarding the Iran, United States, and Israel war in the Middle East.

He made this known during a briefing on Wednesday.

This response comes barely a day after the United States President Donald Trump said on his Truth Social that the US will no longer help the UK, referencing oil transactions in the embattled waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, in the Gulf region.

President Trump also threatened that they may pull out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO.

Reacting to Trump’s comment, PM Starmer said whatever the pressure or ‘noise’ is will not make him change his posture towards the war.

He said that his position not to join in the war was backed by the UK’s national interest.

“I am not going to change my position on the war. “Whatever the pressure or the noise, I am the British prime minister; I have to attain our national interest,” he said in a viral video on X.

DAILY POST reports that the month-long war, which led to the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, has impacted crude oil prices and global economies.
