Chakfem Attacks Claim 15 Lives, 3000 Displaced Amidst Presidency Hails NSA's Efforts.

Rampaging gunmen killed 15 people in Plateau State's Chakfem district, Mangu Local Government Area, leaving over 3,000 displaced. The attackers, suspected to be Fulani militants, burnt down houses, looted farm produce, and rustled animals, destroying the paramount ruler's residence and official vehicle. Amnesty International criticized the Nigerian government for failing to protect citizens from these attacks, warning that continued inaction is costing lives and livelihoods.

The National President of Mwaghavul Development Association, Bulus Dabit, confirmed the incident, stating that the attack occurred on Monday evening when most villagers were asleep. He lamented the inability of security operatives to access the remote villages, calling on the government to deploy more security to contain the escalating violence. The Plateau Youth Council condemned the attack as a "barbaric act" and "genocide," demanding justice and accountability for the victims and their families.
