War: Trump gives condition for ceasefire

United States President Donald Trump has said Washington will only consider a ceasefire request from Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and secured.
Speaking via a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump said Iran’s new President had approached the United States seeking a truce.
He noted that any agreement would depend on the Strait of Hormuz being “open, free and clear,” highlighting the waterway’s strategic role in global oil shipments and maritime trade.
The US President added that military operations against Iran would continue until the condition is met.
In the same post, Trump described Iran’s current leadership as less radical than previous administrations, while reiterating his stance on maintaining pressure.
The development comes amid rising tensions, with Trump also indicating he is considering withdrawing the United States from North Atlantic Treaty Organization over the alliance’s reluctance to support his administration’s approach to the Iran conflict.
