Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has told the club to reject any efforts from Arsenal to sign Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior, as reported by The Telegraph.

The current Premier League champions are eager to improve their left-wing options and have started considering a significant transfer for the Real Madrid star.

While direct negotiations between the two clubs have yet to commence, there is ‘approval at all levels’ within Arsenal for pursuing a deal for the 26-year-old.

Vinicius Jr had an impressive season, scoring 22 goals and providing 14 assists, but he has only 12 months remaining on his contract with Madrid, which could allow him to depart on a free transfer next summer.

This uncertain contract situation has sparked interest from potential suitors like Arsenal, who believe they might entice the Brazilian away from the Spanish capital this summer.

However, salary could pose a challenge for the Gunners, as Vinicius Jr is reportedly earning a staggering £400,000 per week under his current agreement.

Furthermore, The Telegraph indicates that Mourinho will be another hurdle in any prospective sale, as the new Madrid head coach is reluctant to part with one of his key players this summer.

In June, Madrid president, Florentino Perez also suggested that the club is determined to retain Vinicius Jr beyond his existing contract.
