War: Iran reacts as Ukraine attacks, bombs its vessel

Iran has summoned Ukraine’s diplomats following the bombing of an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea by Kyiv, resulting in the death of at least one sailor and injuries to another.
In response, Ukraine asserted that its target was Russian ships transporting military cargo linked to Iran, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stating that Russia is aiding Iran in its military operations in the Middle East, as reported by Al Jazeera.
The Iranian government vehemently denounced the assault through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing genuine concern over the possibility of similar attacks occurring in the future.
Initially, the ministry declared that it had summoned a senior Ukrainian diplomat and denounced the attack as a breach of the UN Charter.
In a separate communication, the ministry indicated that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had a conversation with the EU’s foreign policy chief, urging the international community and the UN Security Council to react to and denounce the attack.
In another statement, the ministry escalated its response beyond mere condemnation, cautioning against what it characterized as a hostile stance by Ukraine towards Iran.
Iran is currently contending with a US naval blockade that is exerting considerable pressure on the nation’s maritime trade.
