According to the 2025-2026 Global Peace Index (GPI), published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, global peacefulness has reached its lowest level since the index began. Despite this global decline, several countries—mostly in Europe and the Asia-Pacific—continue to maintain high levels of safety, low domestic conflict, and minimal militarisation.

Here are the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world heading into 2026.
