Security operatives arrest suspected vandal of Edoline vehicles

Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps, ESSC, have arrested a middle aged man simply identified as Adamu for allegedly vandalizing old vehicles of Edo Line transport company in Benin City.

DAILY POST gathered that the suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime in the premises of the former transport company located at James Watt road in Benin City.

The suspect allegedly vandalized old vehicles and removed their parts when he was arrested by the security team.

It was also gathered that the suspect who hails from Kano state belongs to a gang that specialized in vandalizing unserviceable vehicles for sale.

It was learnt that the suspect and his accomplices now at large reportedly entered the premises of the former Edo line to vandalize several abandoned unserviceable vehicles.

It was further gathered that the engines and other vehicles parts have already been stolen by hoodlums.

A source who said the security operatives stormed the premises of the transport company based on credible intelligence arrested one suspect while his accomplices escaped through the fence.

When contacted, Moses Yamu, the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command said he was not aware of the incident.
