AFCON: 2 European clubs react as Nigeria beat Egypt to win third-place playoff

Two European clubs have reacted to Super Eagles’ victory against Egypt in the AFCON third-place playoff tie on Saturday evening.
The clubs are Atalanta and Besiktas, respectively.
Recall that Nigeria defeated the Pharaohs 4-2 on penalties after the match ended in a 0-0 after normal as there was no extra time.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved the two penalty kicks of Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush.
Reacting, Atalanta who have Ademola Lookman in their squad wrote on X: “Ademola Lookman converts the decisive penalty in the win against Egypt as the Super Eagles secure the bronze medal at the #AFCON2025.”
Also, Sevilla, who have Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke in their squad, wrote: “Nigeria defeated Egypt to secure a Bronze medal at #AFCON2025 Congratulations lads!”
