The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched a massive voter education campaign at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

The electoral umpire urged residents to take advantage of the exercise and revalidate their PVCs ahead of elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that INEC Enlightenment Officer in Kano, Garba Ashiru, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Kano on Wednesday.

He said the initiative, which targeted eight metropolitan Local Government Areas, was aimed at raising awareness on voter participation and updating registration details.

According to Ashiru, the campaign seeks to mobilise voters and promote turnout by educating citizens on electoral processes.

The enlightenment officer said the programme would run for seven days with public sessions and community engagements.

“The exercise, in collaboration with Kano State Government, aims to strengthen democratic participation,” Ashiru said.

He appealed to residents to revalidate their PVCs and get accurate information to enable them to participate fully in the electoral process.
