XE Jet, NBBF seal aviation partnership for Nigeria’s D’Tigress

XE Jet has signed a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, as the Official Aviation Partner of Nigeria’s Senior Women’s National Basketball Team, D’Tigress, to provide dedicated aviation and travel logistics support.

The agreement, which represents one of the most significant aviation partnerships in African basketball, ensures that the team travels at the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and comfort.

The announcement comes as D’Tigress prepares to compete in the upcoming FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifiers taking place in Lyon, France from March 11–17, 2026, where Nigeria will once again showcase its excellence in women’s basketball before a global audience.

Speaking on the partnership, President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engr. Musa Kida, described the agreement as a major step in strengthening the commercial and operational foundation of Nigerian basketball.

Kida said: “D’Tigress has consistently demonstrated excellence and resilience on the global stage. This partnership with XE Jet reflects the growing confidence of corporate partners in Nigerian basketball and reinforces our commitment to providing our athletes with the support they need to succeed internationally.”

Meanwhile, Chairman of XE Jet, Emmanuel Iza, said: “XE Jet is honoured to stand beside D’Tigress as they continue to inspire millions of Nigerians and represent the country with distinction across the world. We believe strongly in the power of sport to elevate national pride, empower women, and create opportunities for future generations.”

Over the past decade, D’Tigress have established themselves as the dominant force in African women’s basketball, securing multiple continental titles and consistently competing among the world’s elite teams.
