Kalu condemns Jos attack, calls for justice for victims

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has condemned the deadly attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area, describing the incident as senseless and unacceptable.

The attack, which reportedly occurred on Sunday night, claimed several lives and left many others injured, plunging the community into mourning.

In a statement on Monday, Kalu expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, commiserating with the bereaved families and the Plateau State Government. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.

“The sanctity of human life must be upheld at all times,” the Deputy Speaker said, stressing the need for urgent action to curb recurring violence in affected communities.

Kalu assured residents that security agencies would intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement authorities by providing useful information to aid ongoing investigations.

The Deputy Speaker also called for strengthened security measures in vulnerable communities, emphasizing the need for renewed commitment from all stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
