World Cup 2026 winners to receive historic first championship rings

The winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive championship rings for the first time in the tournament’s history, introducing one of America’s most iconic sporting traditions to global football.
FIFA announced that the champions of Sunday’s final between Spain and Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium will not only lift the coveted World Cup trophy and receive gold medals but will also be presented with specially designed championship rings.
The rings mark the first time such an award has been introduced at a FIFA competition.
A total of 2,026 individually numbered rings have been produced to commemorate the 2026 tournament.
Of these, 30 rings will be reserved for the World Cup-winning team, while the remaining 1,996 will be made available to fans around the world as an official licensed product.
Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side, while the other side will be customised to reflect the identity of the tournament winners. Every ring will also be individually numbered, custom-fitted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Following the final on July 19, the winning team’s captain and head coach will receive temporary championship rings during the celebrations.
The 30 rings designated for the champions will then be custom-made to ensure a perfect fit before being formally presented to the players and staff at a later date.
Spain and Argentina will meet in the World Cup final on Sunday, with both sides aiming to lift football’s biggest prize. Alongside the trophy, the victorious team will become the first in FIFA history to receive championship rings as part of their title-winning celebrations.
