WAFU B U-17 Championship: Golden Eaglets tackle Benin in first game

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will begin their title quest against neighbours Benin Republic at the 2025 WAFU B U-17 Championship against Benin Republic on Wednesday (today).
It will be the second match in the three-team Group B.
The Baby Stallions of Burkina Faso defeated Benin 1-0 in the first game in the group on Sunday.
The Golden Eaglets head into the game as the overwhelming favourites going by thier pedigree at this level.
Manu Garba’s side are five-time world champions, and have been runners-up on three ocassions.
They have also won the African title twice in the past.
Today’s encounter will hold at the Stade du Lycee Scientifique, Yammosoukro.
Nigeria finished third at the last edition of the biennial competition.
