Super Eagles unveil new Nike jerseys despite W/Cup miss

The Nigerian Super Eagles, on its official X page, have revealed their new kits ahead of upcoming international fixtures, with sportswear giant Nike confirming the designs blend performance technology with modern style.

“The concept behind the new kit emphasizes versatility, combining athletic functionality with a streetwear-inspired aesthetic,” Nike stated, adding that the jerseys continue its tradition of bold designs that connect both on and off the pitch.

The home jersey features a bright light green base, complemented by darker green side panels and a fading dot gradient across the fabric, alongside the Nigeria Football Federation crest and Nike’s signature logo.

In contrast, the away kit adopts a cleaner white look, enhanced by green flame-like patterns rising from the hem, with a dark green V-neck collar and black-trimmed sleeves giving it a distinct finish.

Nike also highlighted the technical side of the kits, noting that both are made from sustainable materials and incorporate Dri-FIT technology to improve breathability and comfort during matches.
The jerseys will retail at £109.99 for adults and £84.99 for children.

The unveiling comes amid a difficult period for the Super Eagles following their failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite a squad featuring top talents like Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman, with the team falling short after a penalty defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the CAF playoff round.

The Nigerian Football Federation had further gone ahead to FIFA to appeal for Congo DR’s disqualification citing reasons on grounds of alleged irregularities in the issuance of passports that qualified a number of players for the play-off.

However, FIFA has gone ahead to list Congo DR as a legitimate team that would participate in the playoffs scheduled for next week in Mexico
