Shabul takes over PPA ELCOM Chair, vows credible polls, invites members to contest elections.

Shabul Mazadu has been appointed Chairman of the Plateau Publishers Association's Electoral Committee, tasked with conducting credible elections. In his acceptance speech, Shabul emphasized his commitment to transparency and fairness, warning, "Don't come lobbying, lobbying will disqualify you, do your campaign." The PPA is seeking support from all stakeholders, including the government and newsmakers, to deliver on their Journalism mandate 

Shabul's appointment follows the resignation of Prince Adese Valentine, who stepped down from the electoral committee chairmanship and his total membership withdrawal from the Plateau  Publishers Association which he said, it was due  reasons beyond control.

Although information has it allegedly that Adese's resignation was due to pressure from the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), which reportedly gave him an option to either choose membership with the NUJ or the PPA, leading to his withdrawal from the PPA.

Despite this development, Shabul reiterated that the PPA's partnership with the NUJ will continue, emphasizing that PPA is not at loggerheads with the NUJ or any other organization.

The PPA had also during the meeting unqnymously remarked that it is not at odds with the Director of Press and Public Affairs, DOPPA, SSA Strategic Communication Hon. Timothy Golu, Dan Bok, or anybody. 

Shabul further promised to ensure inclusive membership and is calling on partners to support the PPA's efforts in conducting credible elections.
