A 24-year-old woman identified as Kelechi Ebubechukwu, has died under unclear circumstances at her fiancé’s home in the Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The incident was made public by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in a post on X on Wednesday.

Quoting police sources, Makama said preliminary findings suggested that the young woman had been battling malaria before her death. Drugs believed to have been prescribed for the illness were reportedly recovered at the scene.

“No marks of violence were found on her body,” the source added.

Nevertheless, her fiancé has been taken into custody as police have commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of her death.

The case adds to a growing list of women who have died in the homes of their partners in recent months across the country.

Recently, a 45-year-old man, Bankole Oginni was arrested by the Police in Ondo, following the death of a woman believed to be his ex-lover at his home. The woman was said to have died under mysterious circumstances.
