Jungle Justice: Police arrest four for assaulting suspected thief dancing in viral video

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested at least four suspects for allegedly assaulting and public humiliating a resident of the state captured in viral video clip dancing.

DAILY POST reports that the victim, one Boluwaji Temidayo, was accused of making fake transfer to a Point of Sales, POS operator.

According to the video making the rounds, some angry youths were seen assaulting the victim, forcing him to dance with the POS machine on his head.

A statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh condemned the incident.

The PPRO explained that the victim reported at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday that he was “assaulted by a group of persons who physically attacked him, recorded the incident without his consent and subsequently uploaded the video on various social media platforms”.

He said the complaint told the police that the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The suspects include Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi.

“Upon receipt of the complaint, police operatives immediately commenced a discreet and technology-driven forensic investigation into the viral video, deploying digital intelligence and other investigative resources to identify those involved in the alleged assault and unlawful dissemination of the footage.

“The investigation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of four suspects believed to have participated in the incident, played active roles in the recording and circulation of the video”, the statement added.
