Controversial Nigerian singer and rapper, Speed Darlington, has opened up about his dissatisfaction with his personal life, saying he is troubled by the fact that he remains unmarried and without children as he approaches his 60th birthday.

The musician, popularly known as Akpi, shared his feelings in a recent video, admitting that despite his achievements, he believes there is more to life than what he currently has.

Reflecting on his situation, Speed Darlington said he desires a family and a more fulfilling life beyond the benefits of living abroad.

“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life. “I want family, freedom and respect,” he said.

The singer’s comments have reignited discussions about his long-standing search for a life partner.

Several years ago, Speed Darlington publicly announced that he was looking for a wife and listed the qualities he expected in his ideal partner.

Among his preferences were that she should be dark-skinned, between 18 and 23 years old, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh less than 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.

Despite making those requirements public, the entertainer has yet to find a wife
