British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has hailed Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo and Croatia captain Luka Modric after both teams’ World Cup Round of 32 encounter last night.
Morgan said he loved the respect between Ronaldo and Modric, adding that the pair are still world-class in their 40s.
The 61-year-old was reacting to Portugal’s 2-1 win against Croatia at Toronto Stadium.
In a tweet on X, Morgan wrote, “Incredible end to a brilliant game. Congrats to @Cristiano and Portugal on a thrilling win, and commiserations to @lukamodric10 and Croatia on a devastating loss.
“Loved the respect between these two football legends, both in their 40s, both still world-class acts.”
Ronaldo and Modric were former teammates during their time together at Real Madrid.
