Peter Obi: NDC knows it can’t win 2027 election – Wike’s aide
Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, which is fielding Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election, knows it cannot secure victory at the polls.
Olayinka, who made the remark on Friday when he featured on Arise TV’s Morning Show, said all NDC candidates including Peter Obi are only trying to register their presence in the 2027 contest.
“Even NDC, the party of Peter Obi, they know they cannot win the election. They are just contesting to try to register their presence,” he said.
Olayinka stated that the party after failing to field governorship candidates in about 15 states across the country, knows it has no political structure to secure victory in the 2027 elections.
He said, “You don’t have a governorship candidate in 15 states. You only have in 13. There was an election in Ekiti and Osun recently, NDC did not field candidates. How do you win an election when you don’t have people on ground to canvass votes for you, to manage elections for you?”
Olayinka expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will be re-elected in the January election.
