Wikki Tourists defeat Niger Tornadoes to secure spot in GusauAhlan 2025 semis

Wikki Tourists put on a dominant display at the Lafia Township Stadium, cruising past Niger Tornadoes 3–0 to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the 2025 GusauAhlan Preseason Tournament.

The Pride of Bauchi wasted no time asserting themselves, opening the scoring in the sixth minute when Sadiq Abdullahi latched onto a clever pass from John Taiwo and slotted home.

Just minutes later, they doubled the advantage after the Tornadoes goalkeeper fouled a Wikki attacker in the box, allowing Dickson Ironsi to step up and confidently dispatch the resulting penalty.

From there, Wikki controlled proceedings with composed passing and solid defending, keeping their opponents at arm’s length.

In the second half, Coach Abdu Maikaba made several changes to give more players a chance to shine. Substitute Ahmed Abubakar Lamido made an immediate impact, firing in Wikki’s third goal in the 75th minute to put the game beyond doubt.

After the match, Maikaba praised the tournament’s role in fine-tuning tactics and identifying new talent. The day’s standout performer, Klinshak Longbak, was named Man of the Match, receiving his award from former Technical Adviser Azeez Audu Mohammed.

With this commanding win, Wikki Tourists head into the semi-finals brimming with confidence and looking to carry their strong preseason form even further.
