WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons earn $60,000 goal bonus after Egypt victory
The Super Falcons were rewarded with $60,000 as goal bonus following their emphatic 6-2 victory over the Cleopatras of Egypt on Wednesday, DAILY POST reports.
Justine Madugu’s side were promised $5,000 per goal by the National Sports Commission, NSC, on the eve of their opening fixture at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against Malawi.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Shehu Gusau, while addressing the players after the win against Egypt, announced that the NSC has increased the bonus to $10,000 per goal.
The move is to boost the morale of the players ahead of the quarter-final clash against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.
Nigeria will battle Cameroon for a place in the semi-finals in Casablanca on Sunday.
The winner of the game will also earn a spot at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
