As preparations for his fifth coronation anniversary gather momentum, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, took to the streets of Okere in Warri, Delta State, riding an electric scooter to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the arrangements.
The revered monarch incorporated the inspection into his morning fitness routine, gliding through the community accompanied by members of his security detail. Residents and onlookers who spotted the royal father erupted in jubilation, cheering and hailing him as he moved freely around the area.
A video of the unique inspection tour was shared on the monarch’s official Facebook page on Saturday. According to the post, the scooter ride allowed the Olu of Warri to assess the ongoing preparations for the upcoming milestone firsthand while maintaining his fitness regimen.
The public appearance has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users praising the monarch’s accessibility, modern approach, and friendly disposition towards his subjects.
The Olu of Warri is expected to mark his fifth year on the prestigious throne with a series of high-profile activities.
Moving away from the traditional royal motorcade, riding an electric scooter in public has become a familiar sight for Ogiame Atuwatse III.
In March 2025, he made headlines when he rode a scooter through his ancestral home of Ode-Itsekiri to the delight of residents. Similarly, in December 2025, the monarch was seen on an electric scooter inspecting a newly completed road project in Delta State.
