US House Speaker, Mike Johnson wants Hamas eradicated

Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mike Johnson has declared his support for Israel’s continuing military onslaught against Hamas.

Reacting to Tuesday’s strike in Doha, the Qatari capital city, the top US government official characterized Hamas as a constant threat that “has to be eradicated.”

“You have to remove that threat on the immediate border,” Johnson told reporters. “I was in Israel myself a few weeks ago; it’s a very dangerous time there. They have enemies encamped around them.”

The US State Department first designated Hamas as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in October 1997, making it illegal for Americans to provide material support or resources to the non-state actors.

In April 2024, the US Congress passed the Hamas and Other Palestinian Terrorist Groups International Financing Prevention Act, allowing the imposition of additional sanctions on persons and entities who assist Hamas or affiliates.

In a statement after the Doha operation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed how he “authorized a surgical precision strike” during a meeting with security chiefs, declaring that the offensive was justifiable.

Israel insists on the total decimation of Hamas since the massacre on October 7, 2023, accusing the group of orchestrating “murderous actions” against Israel and its citizens.
