Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of King Charles III, has been arrested by the UK police.

According to reports, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Thames Valley Police in a statement on Thursday said a man in his sixties from Norfolk was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The force said it is carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

“The man remains in police custody at this time. We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance,” the police said.

While the police did not identify the suspect, the force, when asked whether Andrew had been arrested, referred to its earlier statement confirming the arrest of a man in his sixties. Andrew is 66.

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said an investigation had been opened following a thorough assessment of the allegation.
