Father of boy killed by truck in Aramoko-Ekiti seeks justice

A grief-stricken father, Mr. Rufus Farotimi, is seeking justice after a truck driver rammed into his residence, killing his 21-year-old son, Promise, and leaving his family homeless in Aramoko-Ekiti.
The incident occurred on March 26, 2026, when the heavy-duty truck crashed into their home, crushing Promise, a 300-level student at FUOYE, who was asleep.
Farotimi described the loss as devastating, saying he’s left with nothing. “My son was killed, and I am the owner of the house. This accident has destroyed my house. I’ve lost my child and my shelter,” he said.
The driver fled, but his assistant was apprehended. Documents recovered identified the driver as Shuaibu Yusuf.
Farotimi is urging authorities to apprehend the suspect and called on the company linked to the truck to take responsibility.
Neighbors and community leaders blame reckless driving and the poor road condition, calling for urgent action.
The police confirm the case is under investigation.
