Troops recover 41 rustled cattle in Plateau

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, in collaboration with local vigilantes, have recovered 41 rustled cattle in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, made this known in a post on X.

He disclosed that the recovery was made at about 7:30 a.m. on April 27 during a fighting patrol along the Bangalala–Adua road.

According to him, the troops sighted the cattle abandoned by suspected terrorists, who fled on noticing the advancing security personnel.

“The cattle were successfully recovered and are currently in the custody of the troops pending further necessary action.

“Patrols have been intensified in the area to deter further incidents of cattle rustling and other criminal activities,” he said.
