SCOAN marks fifth anniversary of T.B. Joshua’s passing with global tribute event

Thousands of worshippers, ministers, dignitaries and partners from around the world gathered on Friday at The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the passing of Prophet T.B. Joshua.

The event, themed “Rejoicing With the Saints,” was broadcast live on Emmanuel TV and attracted participants from diverse nations, cultures and backgrounds in celebration of the late cleric’s life, ministry and humanitarian contributions.

Hosted by Femi Branch and Seraphine Dogbe, the programme featured worship sessions, testimonies and tributes reflecting on the enduring influence of Prophet T.B. Joshua, whose teachings and charitable works continue to impact lives across the globe.

The celebration included musical ministrations by internationally acclaimed gospel artistes. American gospel singer Byron Cage led worshippers in thanksgiving songs, while Christina Shusho guided the congregation in praise and worship. Zambia’s Kings Mumbi Malembe delivered energetic praise performances, and Brian Courtney Wilson ministered through worship songs centred on gratitude and faith.

A major highlight of the event was the Conversation Corner, hosted by Vimbai Mutinhiri, where guests from different countries shared personal experiences and reflections on the late prophet’s ministry.

Among those who paid tribute were King Willard Mswati Gormani of Malawi, Colonel Wilson of Colombia, Pastor Acosta of Argentina and Lieutenant Colonel Melo of the Dominican Republic. They recounted how Prophet T.B. Joshua’s counsel, prayers and humanitarian interventions affected their lives and communities.

An emotional moment came with the screening of a documentary-style presentation chronicling the life and ministry of Prophet T.B. Joshua. The video traced his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognised Christian leader and highlighted his commitment to faith, service and humanitarian outreach.

The event also showcased the activities of the T.B. Joshua Foundation, which continues to provide support to vulnerable communities through initiatives such as the Five Thousand Lives Initiative and The Horizon Project. Organisers said the programmes reflect the late prophet’s vision of demonstrating compassion through practical acts of service.

In another segment, participants described the virtues associated with Prophet T.B. Joshua using different letters of the alphabet, highlighting qualities such as humility, faith, generosity, wisdom and compassion.

Speakers at the event noted that five years after his passing, Prophet T.B. Joshua’s legacy continues through ongoing humanitarian projects, spiritual outreach and the global community inspired by his teachings.

For many attendees, the gathering served not only as a memorial but also as a celebration of a life and legacy that continues to influence individuals and communities around the world.
