Romano clears air on Iniesta becoming new technical director of Morocco after Regragui’s resignation

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air on Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta becoming the new technical director of the Moroccan national football team after Walid Regragui resigned as head coach.
Recall that Regragui left his job with immediate effect yesterday, just six weeks on from Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final defeat on home soil to Senegal.
Following Regragui’s departure from the team, reports emerged that Iniesta has signed a contract to become the new technical director of Morocco.
However, in a post on X on Friday, Romano dismissed such reports, insisting that Iniesta has not signed any contract at the moment to become Morocco’s new technical director.
“Despite reports, nothing signed or official yet between Andrés Iniesta and Morocco to become the new technical director,” Romano tweeted.
“Talks are taking place, the Moroccan Federation wants Iniesta as director, but not a done deal yet. Decision up to Andrés.”
