Rashidi Yekini is greatest striker Nigeria ever produced – Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has said he is not desperate to break Rashidi Yekini’s goals record, DAILY POST reports.

Osimhen moved within two goals of equaling Yekini’s all-time goals record for the Super Eagles after scoring in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Algeria at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.

The Galatasaray striker has now netted 35 times for the three-time African champions.

Former African Player of the Year, Yekini registered 37 goals for the Super Eagles.

Osimhen said he is only focused on helping the Super Eagles win the title.

“It doesn’t matter if I equal or surpass Rasheed Yekini’s record, for me, he is the greatest striker Nigeria ever produced. I just want to win something important for my country,” Osimhen told reporters.
