Prepare to get results, by Funmi Komolafe
Let’s begin by giving glory to God that we are alive to witness the last Sunday in the month of August.
Lamentations 3 vs. 22 ( KJV) “ It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because its compassions fail not”.
Beloved, you and I are beneficiaries of the Lord’s mercy and compassion.
As the month of August commonly called the month of a “ New Beginning”, winds down, we should be prepared to testify to a new beginning.
A new beginning begins with new results that make one glad.
If a student has been writing exams without success and he writes one that propels him into excellence, certainly he’ll be happy as he begins to experience a new beginning.
However, the student must have done something. He probably devoted more time to his studies and prayer sessions. These two activities would bring to manifestation in this life, the word of the God in Deuteronomy 28 vs. 12 : “ The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow”.
The emphasis for us here is “ to bless all the work of thine hand”.
Brethren, blessings may not come when we do nothing. You have to do something to get something beyond your expectation from God.
It therefore means that you must prepare for blessings to be blessed.
Results may never come when you refuse to prepare for it but when it comes, it ushers a season of joy. Indeed a new beginning.
When one experiences a challenge, that person is likely to be a subject of insults from mockers . The attitude of such a person isn’t to fight back with insults , rather, it is to go to the Lord in prayer with a simply prayer point.
“ O God cancel every insult in my life”. This simple prayer made in faith regularly, would produce results in Jesus name.
You cannot afford to give up when you haven’t gotten results even when you get results you still need prayers to sustain and retain that miracle.
Psalm 37 vs. 5 tells us : “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”.
To commit your ways unto the LORD is to make a conscious effort to build your spiritual capacity with prayers, worship, thanksgiving and service to God.
This, is a personal decision that you have to make.
I’ll share the testimony of a lady who was waiting on the Lord after many years of marriage.
She began to confess the word of God in Deuteronomy 7 vs. 14: “ Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle”.
She regularly repeated these Bible verse in a day.
Someone saw her walking and talking. The person called her husband and asked, “ Is anything wrong with your wife? I saw your wife walking and talking to herself”.
Her husband told the person that his wife is perfectly okay .
It was not long after she started the daily and regular confession of the word that the she conceived.
Brethren, to get a result, you must meditate on the word of God regularly. Not only that, you need to memorise the Bible passage that address the challenge you want out of your life.
For instance a lawyer that goes to a judge without making reference to any judicial precedence or what the law says about a case will never win a case.
To be a winner, you must prepare for results.
In the case of the woman mentioned earlier, after conception, she changed her prayer point with Exodus 23 vs. 26: “ There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land; the number of thy days I will fulfill”.
With these words of God, she laminated her self and the baby in her against all attacks of the enemy.
At the appropriate time she gave birth to a set of triplets.
She prepared for results and God gave her more than she expected.
Brethren, those who do not sow do not harvest. The season of harvest is the time of results, it is the time of joy and celebration. It is the time that the farmer forgets hard labour that has been put into farm work.
For other persons, it is the time to put the trauma of challenges behind.
May God help us overcome all challenges in Jesus name.
So what do results bring for us as believers?
Results, here refers to miracles that we expect from God.
For a woman called barren like Sarah, Hannah and Rachael, the result that would cancel insults in her life is the birth of a child.
1st Samuel 1 verses 19 &20 : “ And they rose up in the morning early , and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house in Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her”.
Note that Hannah prepared for a miracle by pouring out her heart to the LORD in prayer and made a vow.
You make a vow when you believe that the prayer would be answered. It takes a high level of faith to make a vow.
Verse 20: “ Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD”.
Brethren, you get what you desire from the LORD provided you also prepare for it.
Healing is another result that can cancel insult.
A person held down with sickness is likely to be the subject of insults from those that pretend to pity him.
Brethren may the LORD open our spiritual eyes to see beyond the physical.
It is not all manifestations of illness that are physical. Some have spiritual origins.
Our father in the Lord, Daddy Enoch Adeboye once said, if you do all tests and doctors see nothing and you remain unwell, you should realize that the problem is spiritual.
Therefore, you need to turn to Jesus pleading for mercy .
This prayer point is recommended.
“Merciful father, please remove every hand of the enemy on my health and make me whole”.
There is a promise of God for us in Exodus 15 vs. 26: “ And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statues, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee”.
These words are further sealed with the word, in Isaiah 53 vs. 5: “ But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”
Prepare and claim your right in the LORD.
It shall be well.
