Peter Obi: What should concern all Nigerians on Keyamo’s CCTV claim – OK Movement

OK Movement, a support group for the Presidential and vice presidential candidates of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed anger over the claim by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, that Obi’s vehicle was “unjustly” clamped at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

DAILY POST reports that the minister in a statement issued on Friday night, released a CCTV footage that captured how the NDC candidate’s vehicle allegedly violated airport parking regulations.

Keyamo issued a seven days ultimatum to the former governor of Anambra State to tender apologies and pay N25,000 fine.

Reacting, OK Movement in a statement by its South-West Coordinator, Dr. Adefolaseye Adebayo, said “If the CCTV cameras at one of our international airports cannot clearly show faces or vehicle registration numbers, that should concern every Nigerian.”

She questioned how the ministry would identify terrorists and other criminals with such a CCTV camera.

“How do we identify terrorists? How do we track criminals? How do we investigate serious security incidents?”, she asked.

According to her, Keyamo should start by “apologizing to Nigerians that, despite the billions of naira invested in the aviation sector, this is the best visual evidence you can present in support of these allegations.

“Now Festus Keyamo has told the whole world that, when it comes to CCTV security information, we are not where we should be,” she added.
