Oyo 2027: I am best qualified to succeed Makinde – Reps member, Olajide

A member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan North and South West of Oyo State, Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, has said he is the best person to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde in 2027.

Olajide made the claims while declaring his intention to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.

The lawmaker in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, said he will contest the election on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

DAILY POST reports that Makinde had few hours ago asked those interested in the gubernatorial position to declare their ambitions.

Olajide said he has prepared his mind to succeed the current governor in 2027, promising that when elected he will consolidate the achievements of the current governor.

He said that his decision to join the race was borne out of consultations with political associates, leaders, stakeholders and constituents, adding that various stakeholders in the state believe that his experience in public service and grassroots engagement could be leveraged to further advance the progress of the state.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has laid a solid foundation for the next phase of governance in Oyo State and my plan is to consolidate on these achievements while expanding opportunities for economic growth, social development and inclusive governance

“Our focus will be on building a sustainable economy, creating opportunities for our youth, empowering entrepreneurs and ensuring that development reaches every community in Oyo State.

“I seek the prayers, support and co-operation of the good people of Oyo State as we embark on this journey together. With commitment to the common good, we can build on the solid foundation already laid by the Seyi Makinde led administration and move the state to greater heights”.
