Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) were deployed to Ejigbo on Saturday to monitor proceedings during the ongoing Osun governorship election.

The anti-graft officials monitored activities at several polling units across the local government, including Unit 009, Ward 001; Unit 005, Ward 003; and Unit 006, Ward 004.

The development came amid allegations of vote-buying in some areas, with reports that voters were allegedly offered cash after casting their ballots.

At the polling units visited, the ICPC operatives monitored the conduct of voters and party agents and observed activities around the voting centres.

Their presence attracted the attention of voters, some of whom paused to watch the officials as they carried out their monitoring duties.

As of the time of filing this report, the commission had not announced any arrests or seizures in connection with the alleged vote-buying.
