Osun 2026: Unity key to APC’s victory — Ex-Lawmaker

By Shina Abubakar, Osogbo

OSOGBO — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said unity among party members is crucial to securing victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election in the state.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, noted that although the APC stands a strong chance of winning the poll, internal divisions, bitterness and anti-party activities could undermine its prospects if not urgently addressed.

In a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, he urged party leaders and stakeholders to move swiftly to resolve grievances and reconcile aggrieved members.

According to him, victory for the APC is non-negotiable, stressing that the party must not allow internal disputes to derail its chances at the polls.

“No divided house can win a battle. That is why I am appealing to all members to come together and resolve whatever differences we have. APC is cruising to victory,” he said.

He warned that going into the election with divisions would amount to a costly mistake, adding that unity and a shared purpose remained essential for success.

“The governorship election is fast approaching, and there is an urgent need for us to come together as one big family. There is no doubt that some party members may be aggrieved for one reason or another, but such grievances should be urgently addressed,” he added.

Oyintiloye described the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, as a “sellable candidate” with the capacity to win the election, urging members to rally support behind him.

He expressed confidence that with the backing of party leaders, including Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and other stakeholders, the party would return Osun State to progressive governance after the election.
