Only emergency vehicles exempted from traffic enforcement – Gov Yusuf

The Kano State Government has announced that only emergency service vehicles will be exempted from the ongoing traffic law enforcement across the state.

This comes after the government ordered strict enforcement of traffic rules across the state and warned that anyone who breaks the law will face serious consequences.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Sunday.

“The governor has directed the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to immediately begin rigorous enforcement of traffic laws across the metropolis.”

The governor said that only fire trucks, ambulances, and security vehicles on active duty are allowed to ignore traffic rules.

The statement also warned that anyone who breaks traffic laws or tries to stop the government’s development efforts will face legal punishment.
