NPFL: Kano Pillars appeal rejected, three‑point deduction stands

Kano Pillars attempt to overturn a three-point and three-goal deduction has failed after the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Appeals Committee upheld the sanctions.
The committee reviewed the club’s protest, but ruled that the original decision would stand.
The decision was reached via a Zoom meeting on Friday.
The penalties stem from crowd disturbances during the Sai Masu Gida’s matchday fixture against Shooting Stars.
The encounter took place in the first stanza at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) responded by deducting three points and three goals from the points accumulated by Kano Pillars this season.
Kano Pillars were also fined N9.5m, with the NPFL ordering closure of the indefinite closure Sani Abacha Stadium.
The NPFL cited serious regulatory breaches, including assaults on match officials, as justification for the punishment.
