Media personality Do2dtun has strongly defended Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold amid comments revisiting past online posts associated with Simi after Adekunle Gold tweeted on Tuesday for the first time since the whole saga unfolded.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Do2dtun urged social media users to halt what he described as extreme bullying directed at the singer and his family. He maintained that Adekunle Gold’s reputation and achievements remain intact despite the controversy.

“Leave AG alone,” he wrote, condemning what he called “despicable comments” circulating online. According to him, disagreements should not translate into personal attacks.

The broadcaster went on to highlight the singer’s contributions to Nigerian music, noting his catalogue of critically acclaimed albums and his reputation as a dynamic live performer.

“I think it’s time for you guys to leave AG alone. He gave us classic albums, this guy shut down a whole national theatre; an amazing performer, his craft is exceptionally untouched,” he wrote.

Do2dtun stressed the importance of respecting both an artiste’s craft and private life, arguing that online debates should not escalate into harassment.

“I see the most despicable comments about him and his family. Mehn it’s enough. I believe if we all stand tall in many things in life, let us start with respecting people’s craft and life work. He remains unscarred and he is still one of the biggest musicians to ever come out of Nigeria. Una carry issue turn am to assault and extreme bullying. It’s enough,” he added.
