The Kano State Police Command says it is investigating two separate incidents that happened in Kwalwa Quarters, Kano Municipal Local Government Area.

The first case happened on August 4, 2025, at about 7:30 pm, when unidentified attackers stormed the home of Sadiq Shu’aibu, popularly known as Sadiq Gentle.

Police said he was stabbed and robbed of his valuables during the attack.

He was taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital for treatment but died on August 7.

The Police Command said it has opened a thorough investigation into the matter and urged residents to come forward with any useful information.

The second incident took place on August 3, 2025, around 2:00 am.

According to police, 24-year-old Mas’ud Dahiru allegedly broke into the home of Musa Hassan with the intention to rob.

The suspect reportedly tried to stab Hassan’s wife with a knife but was resisted by their 18-year-old son, Muhammad Musa, whom he stabbed on the back and face.

An alarm was raised, and Dahiru, along with an accomplice, 38-year-old Alhaji Haruna, were caught and beaten by a mob.

They were later taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, where Dahiru was confirmed dead.

His accomplice and the injured victim are still receiving treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, assured residents that the investigations will be transparent.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has assured the public of transparent investigations into both incidents,” the statement added.

He further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the State.
