Gunman invade school in US, open fire on students

Two people were injured Thursday morning when a gunman opened fire at Old Dominion University’s Constant Hall in Norfolk, Virginia.

Officials said the gunman was immediately shot dead by security operatives in the area.

It was learned that the gunman invaded the school premises at about 11 am and opened fire in Constant Hall.

Reports indicate that the management of the Old Dominion University immediately cancelled classes and operations on its main campus for the remainder of the day.

A student of the institution, Zachary Mulder, said he had just finished his morning class at Constant Hall and settled in at the nearby Student Center with a book and a cup of coffee when the incident occurred.

“My heart dropped. I didn’t really know what was going on. I just knew I had to leave immediately”, Mulder said.
