Ogun: TESCOM charges teaching staff to remain transparent, loyal

Teaching staff in Ogun State public secondary schools have been charged to remain transparent and loyal to the government in the discharge of their duties.

The Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Biodun Sanyaolu, gave the charge during a monitoring visit to designated schools in Ijebu and Egba divisions at the ongoing verification exercise for teaching staff in public secondary schools across the state on Tuesday.

Accompanied by the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Akintomiwa Osibodu, Sanyaolu said the visit was to assess the level of staff compliance with the exercise.

He noted that the verification was crucial for updating the database of teaching staff statewide, adding that it would aid the digitisation process of the commission and the broader education sector.

The TESCOM chairman expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the staff, urging them to cooperate with the verification teams in order to ensure a successful exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the teaching staff, the zonal secretaries for Ogun Waterside, Ijebu-Ode, Ikenne, and Odeda, Mr Sefiu Ariyo, Mr Tomilope Olugbesan, Mrs Iyabode Oguntoyin, and Mrs Idowu Saka, respectively, appreciated the chairman and the commission’s team for conducting the exercise, promising to make it a hitch-free programme.

The designated schools visited were Abigi Community Grammar School, Abigi; Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode; Remo Secondary School, Sagamu; and Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta.
