In a post on his verified X handle on Saturday, Adeleke said the safety and protection of the people is paramount.
He made the assertion immediately after the voting exercise and the beginning of the result announcement at the Polling Unit level.
He applauded the security agencies deployed for the election and urged them to remain vigilant till the last phase of the election exercise.
The governor, who is the candidate of Accord Party also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to uphold the highest standards of integrity throughout the process.
“Against all odds, the people of Osun State have turned out in large numbers and are speaking with one voice.
“The federal government has provided adequate security, and I am confident in the professionalism of all institutions involved.
“Democracy is at its strongest when we honour the wishes of our people and protect the sanctity of their votes. To every Osun citizen: I urge you to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to this democratic moment. Let the people’s will prevail,” he tweeted.
