Dele Momodu questions ex-minister’s career, Fani-Kayode fires back

A fiery social media exchange has erupted between media mogul Dele Momodu and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, exposing longstanding political tensions and personal grievances.

The spat began when Fani-Kayode, on his Facebook page, launched a scathing attack on Momodu, tracing his career from his university days to his political ambitions.

Fani-Kayode described Momodu as opportunistic, alleging that he has a history of shifting alliances for personal gain and labeling him a “bread hawker, political prostitute, and glutton of the ages.”

Fani-Kayode criticized Momodu’s political record, highlighting his failed presidential bid, in which he reportedly received only one vote. He also accused Momodu of betraying former political allies, including MKO Abiola and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for personal benefit, and claimed that Momodu’s support for political figures often depends on financial gain.

“Everything about him eventually crashes, and just as he undermined Atiku’s campaign in 2023, he will crash it again in 2027,” Fani-Kayode wrote.

In response, Momodu posted a rebuttal on his own Facebook handle, describing Fani-Kayode as a “bully” and defending his professional achievements. He cited examples of assisting Fani-Kayode, including publishing materials about his family in Ovation Media Group and facilitating reconciliation between Fani-Kayode and his estranged wife.

Momodu also questioned Fani-Kayode’s professional credentials, asking, “What work or business does Femi do except scavenging for political appointments?” He highlighted that Ovation Media Group continues to be a respected global brand under his leadership.

The exchange, filled with personal anecdotes and political accusations, underscores the combative nature of Nigerian politics and media personalities, particularly as the nation approaches the 2027 general elections.

Political observers note that while both men have considerable influence, their feud highlights the intersection of media, personal loyalty, and political ambition in shaping public discourse in Nigeria.
