Troops arrest two suspected terrorists in Borno

Nigerian Army troops have arrested two suspected terrorists during a routine patrol in Ngamdu town, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The development was revealed by security expert Zagazola Makama on his X handle on Sunday.

Security sources told Makama that the operation was carried out at about 5:35 pm on May 2 by personnel of the 154 Battalion while on routine patrol within the area.

The suspects were reportedly intercepted and arrested during the patrol without resistance.

Items recovered from them include one mobile phone, a keypad phone, a power bank, charms, and other sundry personal effects.

According to the sources, the suspects are currently in military custody for interrogation and further investigation.

They added that further action will be taken after profiling, while patrols in the area have been intensified to strengthen security presence and maintain operational dominance.
