China slams US for bullying, reckless force in Venezuela after Trump’s latest announcement

China has condemned the United States for its ‘bullying’ behavior and irresponsible use of force towards Venezuela.

Speaking at a regular briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning insisted that the United States’ actions in Venezuela seriously violate international law and severely harm the rights of the Venezuelan people.

This follows United States President Donald Trump’s announcement on Wednesday that the interim government of Venezuela has agreed to transfer 30 to 50 million barrels of crude oil to the US.

“Venezuela is a sovereign country and enjoys full and permanent sovereignty over its natural resources and all economic activities,” Ning said.

“The United States’ reckless use of force against Venezuela and its demand that Venezuela dispose of its oil resources under the principle of ‘America First’ constitute bullying behaviour, seriously violate international law, gravely infringe upon Venezuela’s sovereignty, and severely harm the rights of the Venezuelan people,” she said.
