CAC provides update on Stamp Duties payment issues on its portal

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has acknowledged ongoing difficulties faced by some users in making Stamp Duties payments via its online portal.

In a statement issued on Friday via its official X handle, the Commission explained that the issue was linked to the rollout of its newly upgraded portal, which it said was more advanced than the systems used by other collaborating agencies.

“Please be assured that this matter is receiving the urgent attention of engineers from both agencies involved, and a permanent solution is almost in place,” the CAC stated.

The Commission added that it is also finalizing a simplified, AI-powered post-incorporation system for Business Names, which will include features such as the filing of Annual Returns.

According to the CAC, the Annual Returns feature is expected to go live by the weekend.
