Again, scores of terrorists eliminated in failed attack on Baga community of Borno

Less than 24 hours when some terrorists launched multiple attacks on Military formations, Troops of Sector 3, Joint Task Force North East ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, have again successfully repelled an early morning attack by Boko Haram/ ISWAP terrorists on a military base in Doron Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State.

Sources said, the encounter led to neutralisation of several insurgents in the process, while assorted arms and ammunition were recovered by the Troops.

According to a credible military Source, the  terrorists reportedly stormed the military base at about 2:12am on Tuesday triggering a fierce gun battle that lasted for approximately 55 minutes.

He said: “Troops stood their ground and maintained tactical dominance throughout the engagement, which ended around 5:50 a.m.

“Several terrorists were killed during the encounter, while there were no casualties or equipment losses on the side of the troops”.

Sources have raised concerns about the possibility of a follow-up attack and urged soldiers and security operatives in the area to remain vigilant and sustain heightened security measures.

Our Correspondent gathered that Troops morales remained high with follow-up operations and patrols ongoing to prevent any resurgence of terrorist activity in the area.
