Adeleke’s camp to Keyamo: ‘There is no agreement’ with Tinubu

ABUJA — The camp of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed claims of an agreement between the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council, said this on Sunday in a post on X, insisting that the people of Osun State should be given credit for the governor’s victory in the recent governorship election.

He said the outcome of the election was a reflection of the people’s resilience and choice, rather than the product of any political agreement.

“Do not undermine the resilience of Osun people. There is no agreement.

“Our support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is based on his performance and reforms that have strengthened states economically.

“Osun people voted Adeleke. President Tinubu simply ensured democratic rules were respected,” Olajengbesi said.

His comments followed a post by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, in which the minister thanked Adeleke for what he described as the governor’s public and unequivocal endorsement of Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.

Keyamo had written on X: “Thank you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for the public and unequivocal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT for the 2027 Presidential Election.

“You are a man of integrity and honour. ‘Agreement is agreement.’”

However, Olajengbesi’s response sought to clarify that Adeleke’s support for Tinubu was based on the President’s performance and economic reforms, rather than any political agreement.

The spokesperson also stressed that the people of Osun State freely chose Adeleke at the polls, while the President’s role, according to him, was to ensure that democratic rules were respected.
