7,771 graduate as RCCG Theological College holds 45th convocation

— Adeboye urges graduates to become ‘mountain movers’ for Christ

The Redeemed Christian Theological College (RCTC) has graduated 7,771 students at its 45th convocation ceremony, held during the 74th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Congress Arena, Redemption City of God.

The Provost of the college, Pastor Rotimi Alaba, described the milestone as a reaffirmation of the institution’s commitment to providing theological education for the growth and transformation of the Church.

Addressing the graduating students, the General Overseer of RCCG and Chairman of the RCTC Board of Governors, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, urged them to confront life’s challenges through faith, obedience, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit.

“As graduates of this institution, you have been equipped not merely to stare at mountains but to confront them through faith, obedience, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit,” Adeboye said.

He noted that the graduates’ training extended beyond academic studies to include spiritual growth, character development and preparation for lifelong ministry.

According to him, success in ministry is measured not by titles or recognition but by faithfulness to God and commitment to winning souls.

Adeboye charged the graduates to become “mountain movers” by removing the barriers of sin through the preaching of the Gospel, replacing ignorance with biblical truth and bringing hope to those in need.

He also urged them to remain humble, prayerful and dependent on the Holy Spirit while standing firmly on the truth of the Scriptures.

“The God who has called you is faithful, and He will empower you to fulfil your divine assignment,” he said.

Also speaking, the Assistant General Overseer on Education and Training, RCCG, and Executive Vice Chairman of the RCTC Board of Governors, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, described the convocation as a day of thanksgiving and celebration.

He commended the graduates for responding to God’s call and submitting themselves to sound biblical and theological training.

Referring to the convention’s theme, Mountain Movers, Odeyemi said the graduates had overcome academic, personal and spiritual challenges during their studies and should now demonstrate their learning through holy living, faithful preaching, compassionate leadership, discipleship and evangelism.

“The Church and the world are looking for men and women who will move the mountains of unbelief, ignorance, fear, brokenness and hopelessness by proclaiming the unchanging truth of God’s Word and demonstrating the love of Christ,” he said.

In his remarks, the Provost, Pastor Rotimi Alaba, said the college remained committed to expanding its reach and strengthening theological education.

Quoting Isaiah 54:2-3, he said the institution would continue to enlarge its influence and deepen its impact in preparing ministers for Kingdom service.

Alaba reminded the graduates that their certificates represented a commissioning into greater service rather than the completion of their calling.

He urged them to uphold integrity, humility and excellence while remaining committed to God’s work in a world facing moral decline, spiritual confusion, social fragmentation and leadership challenges.

Delivering a sermon titled The Sword of the Spirit, Pastor Charles Achonwa of Doulos Ministries challenged the graduates to make God’s Word the foundation of their ministry.

He urged them not to rely solely on academic qualifications but to seek spiritual empowerment for effective service.

“Your certificate is not enough. It is souls that testify to God’s work. Add fire to your certificate,” Achonwa told the graduates.

The 74th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God continues at the Redemption City of God with thousands of worshippers attending from across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
