US vs Iran: Trump never whittled down UN power, influence – Jimoh Ibrahim

The Permanent United Nations Representative-designate, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, says the President Donald Trump of the United States has not whittled the power and influence of the UN.

Senator Ibrahim said this on Friday during a live appearance in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He was reacting to the the ongoing tensions between the United States/Israel and Iran.

He added that contrary to the thought of many people that the role of the United Nations in world peace and order is dwindling, the UN are more of liberalists.

“President Trump has not whittled down the power and influence of the United Nations. What people should know is that the UN are more of liberalists.

“The liberalists don’t believe in power acquisition; they are not going to run in accordance with power.

“An example of such is President Bola Tinubu. No matter what you say about him, he doesn’t believe in aggressiveness of power.

“Former President Obasanjo likes power; Buhari liked power, maybe because of their military practice. Donald Trump is a realist running an American democracy,” he said.
